UK dance music outfit comprising Darren Stokes and Lyndsey Edwards. The group was formed in 1993 when Stokes, also a renowned DJ, was A&R Director for Pulse 8 Records (responsible for signing, among others, Gloworm’s ‘I Lift My Cup’ and Urban Cookie Collective’s ‘The Key: The Secret’). He met Edwards, an acclaimed keyboard player and musical technician, on a session for the label. Adopting the name Tin Tin Out they undertook a burgeoning repertoire of remixes, including Jon Pleased Wimmin (‘Passion’), Lisa Moorish (‘That’s The Way It Is’) and Michelle Gayle (‘Freedom’). In their own right they reached the UK charts in August 1994 with ‘The Feeling’, which featured rapper Sweet Tee, and the following March with a memorable version of ‘Always Something There To Remind Me’ featuring Espiritu singer Vanessa Quinnones (the Top 20 hit was later used on UK television’s football programme Endsleigh League Extra). They signed to VC Recordings in 1995, releasing Always later in the year. They enjoyed their first UK Top 10 hit in March 1998 when a version of the Sundays’ ‘Here’s Where The Story Ends’, featuring the vocals of Shelley Nelson, reached number 7. The follow-up single, ‘Sometimes’, stalled at number 20 in September. The following year’s collaboration with Emma Bunton of the Spice Girls, a lame cover version of Edie Brickell’s ‘What I Am’, reached UK number 2 in November.
